Sports and education –
the perfect combination
Studying in America as a student-athlete offers something truly special: the chance to earn a respected university degree whilst training and competing at a high level. In most countries, you typically have to choose between serious sport and university – in America, you can do both! Sport scholarships also make it financially viable and often cheaper than studying at home.
Our mission at Keystone Sports is simple: to help UK athletes like you combine top-quality education in the USA with your passion.

What are sport scholarships?
Sport scholarships are financial awards that American universities offer to recruit athletes for their college teams. These scholarships can cover tuition fees, accommodation, meals, books, and other costs – potentially worth $12,000 to $55,000 per year.
American colleges and universities invest heavily in their sports programmes and actively recruit international talent. Sport scholarships are available across all competition levels and in nearly every sport, meaning there’s an opportunity for athletes of all abilities. This makes a U.S. degree surprisingly affordable for students with athletic talent and dedication!
College sports in America
American universities offer sports programmes across dozens of sports for both men and women, from traditional team sports like football and basketball to individual sports like tennis, golf, swimming, and track and field.
You’ll compete in leagues – NCAA (Divisions I, II, and III), NAIA, or NJCAA – with regular fixtures, conference championships, and national tournaments. With different divisions available, there’s a competitive level suited to every athlete.
But being a student-athlete is more than just training and competing: you’ll be part of a campus culture where college athletics are a major event, with thousands of fans turning out to support their teams. It’s an atmosphere that’s one of a kind and needs to be experienced firsthand.
“Student-athlete” – the student comes first
As a student-athlete, you’re a student first. You’ll study whatever subject you choose at an American university, attending lectures and earning your degree just like any other student. The key difference is that you also get dedicated time, support, and facilities to train and compete in your sport at the highest level.
American universities offer world-class education across hundreds of degree programmes, and as a student-athlete, you have access to academic support services, tutoring, and flexible scheduling to help you succeed both in the classroom and on the field.
You’ll graduate with a respected degree that opens doors not only in the US or the UK, but worldwide.
