Kingston University

University Profile

At Kingston University, welcoming difference is our greatest strength.

In 2017 we were proud to be awarded the NEON University of the Year Award for our commitment to increasing access to higher education for everyone. In the same year we won the 2017 Guardian Award for Teaching Excellence. This award acknowledges the work we’re doing to reduce the attainment gap between black and minority ethnic and white students.

We are ranked a top 10 London university in the recent Guardian League Table (2019), which was a leap of 23 places from the previous year. Many of our courses, such as sport science, pharmacy, journalism, fashion and design also feature in the top 10 nationally.

Destination: Kingston

You’ll find plenty to eat, see, drink and do in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames with its mix of markets, museums, restaurants, shopping and clubs. Better still, Kingston’s on the doorstep of central London, so you’ll find yourself in the heart of the capital within half an hour of hopping on a train.

Meet us in person

The best way to find out if Kingston is the place for you is to meet us in person. We have a range of events throughout the year where you’ll have the opportunity to find out more about us.

Our Open Days take place on:

  • Saturday 22 June 2019
  • Wednesday 10 July 2019
  • Saturday 28 September 2019
  • Saturday 26 October 2019
  • Wednesday 13 November 2019

Transforming our campuses

We constantly strive to provide excellent facilities for our students. We will be spending £118.7 million on campus developments by 2023. Over the past year we have delivered a number of improvement projects to provide a better teaching, learning and working experience for our students, staff and local community.

Town House

Our new landmark building, Town House, on our Penrhyn Road campus, is centred on transforming the learning experience for our students. Designed by RIBA award-winning and Stirling Prize-nominated Grafton Architects, Town House will provide great new study facilities. These include a new library with over 1,000 study spaces, flexible learning spaces, a covered courtyard, cafes, dance studios, rooftop gardens and an attractive landscape along the front of the campus.
