The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts is a specialist performing arts institution co-founded by Paul McCartney in 1996. We offer degree and foundation courses covering performance and making performance possible. Collaboration between different disciplines is essential to our curriculum with students working together on projects and productions and responsible for every aspect of our public performances. Emphasis is also placed on business and entrepreneurial skills. This, along with our strong links to industry, gives our students the best possible chance of a sustained career in their chosen field.
Our BA (Hons) performance courses are: Acting; Applied Theatre & Community Drama; Dance; Music; Music (Songwriting & Performance) and Music (Songwriting & Production). We also offer one-year Foundation Certificates in Acting; Dance and Popular Music & Music Technology.
