The Royal Ballet and Opera are a world class producing company employing over 1000 permanent staff and 1000+ freelancers. But they are not all Ballet Dancers and Opera Singers!
Everything that appears on our stages from scenery to shoes is made by our talented teams – costume makers, wig makers, scenic artists, props makers, carpenters and metalworkers. Our performance home, the Royal Opera House, is one of the busiest theatres in Europe with some of the most advanced production technology.
Our stage changes shows entirely twice a day which takes an army of Lighting experts, electricians, engineers, sound engineers and construction technicians. Not to mention the teams of people that keep the theatre running; the legal team, finance, marketing, visitor experience, planning etc.
We offer routes into any career in our company from Work Experience to Apprenticeships and we want the theatre makers of the future to start their career with us.
