Gloucestershire offers the best of both city and country living - from a vibrant nightlife to stunning Cotswolds views, it’s a fantastic place to live and study.
Who Cares? We Do.
As the UK’s No.1 university for sustainability (People & Planet League 2019) we care about what the future holds, not just for our students, but for the planet too. We care about the things you care about.
Where will my degree take me?
We'll help you to reach your goals, during and after your time at university. Our lecturers are industry experts who will give you the freedom to express yourself and the inspiration to push yourself to reach your full potential.
Each subject area has its own range of trips and placement opportunities - every year our students complete over 4,000 placements and internships around the globe. The university has strong links with industry, ensuring career-relevant experiences are integral to all our degrees.
Will I fit in?
We have more than 9,000 students from 60+ countries in a diverse and vibrant learning community. It's an amazing environment to figure out your own authentic direction, working with other people to reach your goals.
Will I love life in Gloucestershire?
Gloucestershire is as vibrant and innovative as it is historic and beautiful. We have plenty of cheese (rolling), cows and outdoor activities across the Cotswolds. But we also have world-famous festivals (over 45 a year), international sporting events and an eclectic mix of gigs and nightlife.
“The town and city have this buzz that's so energetic, but doesn't make me feel lost or small! It's the perfect balance, which is what I love about Gloucestershire." – Luc Brown, TV Production graduate.
How will I be supported?
You’re not just a number with us. A close-knit community helps students get the support to reach their potential. Class sizes are small and lecturers pride themselves on knowing students personally. We also have outstanding student support teams who are always on-hand to offer 1-2-1, confidential advice.
Is it worth it?
University is about more than a degree – learn how to live independently, make lifelong friendships and make mistakes. It’s okay to not know everything – you’ll learn a lot on your course and a lot off-campus too. You’ll experience things that will shape your future, like developing new skills at one of our clubs and societies or going out of your comfort zone on an international trip. We think university is a journey, and we’ll be right there with you.
How can I protect the planet?
We don't just teach you about the problems - we challenge you to overcome them. Students can collaborate with organisations working for a sustainable future, or make an impact through research, trips and community action. We make sure that sustainability is embedded in your course so you can learn about current issues in your field and how to make positive change for the future. Top companies recognise this and work with our students to apply that knowledge in projects and placements.
