The West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU)are part of the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit and cover the four police force areas of West Midlands, West Mercia, Staffordshire & Warwickshire.
The RCCU in general, investigate serious & organised cyber crime that affects the West Midlands Region, with our investigations often stretching worldwide. As part of dealing with cyber crime we also have a large part to play in preventing individuals getting involved in committing cyber dependant crime by specifically promoting positive cyber careers over a career in cyber crime.
We do this by providing a wealth of knowledge into numerous schemes, projects and resources that young people can get involved in, which will assist them in making a positive career choice. In addition we educate and give valuable and expert advice to young people on where the boundaries of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 are and the consequences of straying over those boundaries.
Officers from the RCCU will be available to chat with those attending the event about numerous, exciting and positive careers as an alternative to illegal hacking. Come and visit our stand to have a go at some online cyber challenges and hear about the positive opportunities available as well as entering our a competition to win a “raspberry pi 3 B+ Starter Kit”
