University Profile

Manchester Metropolitan is one of the UK’s most applied to universities, with over seven applications for every undergraduate place. You’ll find more than 400 undergraduate degree courses to choose from, including single subject and combined honours, full-time and part-time. Many of our undergraduate courses offer the option of a Foundation Year for students who have the potential to study at degree level but who don’t have the qualifications to enter directly onto an honours degree.

Many of our degree courses are offered with a placement year. This gives you the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in the UK or overseas, often with pay. We also offer a number of Degree Apprenticeships that allow you to combine workplace training with a traditional degree education. A selected number of our courses are four- or five-year integrated undergraduate Masters programmes that incorporate a final year of advanced scholarship or research.

Manchester Met uses the UCAS Tariff points system to set entry requirements for courses and consider applications, enabling a fair comparison between the range of qualifications you can study (including A-levels, BTEC, and Access to HE). Depending on your chosen course, there may also be a requirement for certain subjects at Level 3. Please note that for all of our courses we do not count points from AS level qualifications. You must be able to demonstrate acceptable levels of literacy and numeracy, and most courses require a minimum of GCSE grade C in mathematics and English.

One year ‘top-up’ courses are available for applicants who have a related HND or Foundation Degree in the following subject areas: Accounting, Finance and Business Management.
