Situated on two seaside campuses, Swansea is the home of adventure. With over 20 beaches to choose from, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn to surf, paddleboard or kayak. The experiences don’t stop on dry land, with a six-mile beachfront path, perfect for using our Swansea University Cycles. Or if you want to explore further afield, we are within easy reach of the endless hills, valleys and waterfalls of Bannau Brycheiniog.
The city itself is going through an exciting period of development thanks to the £1.3 billion Swansea Bay City Deal, which has already seen the opening of a 3,500-seat arena that regularly welcomes international stars to the city.

Research
At Swansea, our research changes lives. We are not afraid to tackle the major issues and have made a positive impact globally in areas such as the climate crisis, preserving ancient monuments, and improving health, through cancer research and eradicating malaria.
Many of our researchers also teach on our courses, so you will directly benefit from their knowledge and experience as part of your studies, with opportunities also created for students to work directly with research projects, gaining valuable experience.

We’ve invested substantially in your future, creating student and study spaces in state-of-the-art facilities across both campuses, with £107million spent across the last 5 years.
You will also find big name brands on campus like Starbucks, Subway, Greggs, Costa and Tesco, so you don’t need to look far for snacks or a coffee, and our refectories and games rooms offer contemporary spaces to eat, study and socialise in welcoming surroundings.
If you’re looking to get active, our £20million Swansea Bay Sports Park is located just across the road from Singleton Campus, and we have gyms on both campuses, with reduced fees for students.
